If you do not want your inserted images to link to the fill size copy of the image, you need to ensure that you set the Link Url to "None" before inserting them into your content.

Re-upload a fresh copy of the Responsive theme using FTP. And next time, do not edit the theme's template files. Create a child theme for your changes

Try re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
